Deliver business value through Right and Fast partnershipJob Description: Research Scientist II - Electrochemistry Location: Gurgaon, India Position Overview: Honeywell Technologies Solution (HTS) is seeking a “Research Scientist II – Electrochemistry” to join our Honeywell India Technology Center in Gurgaon. In this role, you will be responsible for directing Research Associate and conducting analysis of electrochemical performance. You will also be involved in designing and improving the performance of electrochemical cell test results. We are looking for candidates with deep knowledge and experience in electrochemistry and material science for cathodes and electrochemical energy storage. Expertise in cell fabrication, characterization, and assessment is required. This is a technically challenging role that requires strong leadership and industrial experience. Responsibilities: - Prepare electrodes, assemble cells, and perform physical and electrochemical characterization at both component and device levels. - Set the roadmap for electrochemical technologies and have knowledge about cell form factors. - Fabricate novel electrode materials and assemble them with new electrolyte formulations to improve performance. - Develop advanced characterization techniques and equipment for testing materials and electrochemical performance. - Develop reliable analytical methods to deepen the understanding of chemical and physical processes at the electrolyte/electrode interface. - Interact with stakeholders and vendors to maintain laboratory equipment. - Conduct literature reviews to understand project requirements and design specific electrolytes. - Prepare and present technical reports, compile lab results, and share scientific findings in team meetings. - Perform electrochemical cell operations and implement procedural and operational changes to ensure quality. - Collaborate with global teams to share results, seek feedback, and plan next steps for electrochemistry projects. - Support HOS activities across the electrochemistry area. - Coordinate with scientists to understand innovative strategies for electrochemical routes to new product development. - Implement quality control procedures and a systematic Six Sigma based approach for electrochemical measurement.Qualifications: - Ph.D./Post Doc in Materials Science, Energy Science and Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering, or related area OR 4+ years of industrial/R&D experience. - Proven experience in materials synthesis, electrode/electrolyte fabrication, and characterization of cell materials and components using various analytical techniques. - Minimum 2 years of research and development experience in electrochemistry, fuel cell, catalyst synthesis, carbon neutrality, or pilot plant operations. - Experience in Electrochemistry R&D, catalyst synthesis lab work, electrochemical analysis specialty chemicals, or pilot plant operations. - Familiarity with handling chemicals in a research and development setting. - Theoretical understanding of ion transport in solid-state electrolytes and strong engineering fundamentals. - Ability to thrive in a dynamic, technically ambitious environment and adapt to changes. - Self-motivated with a track record of learning new skills and applying them. Desired Skills: - Knowledge of cell fabrication and cathode material synthesis. - Ability to lead a team of researchers and manage day-to-day activities in the laboratory. - Knowledge of vendor management and laboratory operations. - Broad knowledge and experience in new product development, catalyst synthesis, and electrochemical performance analysis. - Hands-on experience in Chronoamperometry, fuel cell assembly, Linear sweep voltammetry, or pilot plant operations. - Excellent interpersonal, multi-tasking, and organizational skills.
