Initiates the design, development, execution and implementation of technology research projects. Investigates the feasibility of applying scientific principles and concepts to potential inventions and products. Plans and executes applied research.
Major Position Responsibilities· Assist Research Engineers in conducting experiments and research.
· Participates as a research team member in development or research projects.
· Conducts experiments using appropriate research and laboratory equipment.
· Identifies and labels samples meant for storage, stores in appropriate locations.
· Records results from tests and experiments according to laboratory procedure.
· Reports unusual or unexpected results to head scientist or engineer.
· Maintains and cleans testing equipment in the laboratory.
· Replaces equipment components that are worn or damaged.
· Maintains laboratory inventory, requesting and replacing worn, damaged, or empty items.
· Assists with the development of project goals and financial parameters for specific work
assignments.
Basic QualificationsVocational/Technical Training Degree
Preferred Associate's Degree 2-4 years prior experience in a similar position or Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/ or ExperirenceTechnical expertise. Ability to understand and follow directions. Product research / Quantitative research / Research and development. Research documentation / Oral and written communication skills.
