Your role and responsibilities

1 Conduct research and technology development in the field of power electronics used in variable speed drives. 2 Study the basic principle and analyze the root causes of existing issues in products. 3 Track cutting-edge technology in variable speed drives. Scan local science and technology progress in power electronics relevant for variable speed drives. 4 Build long-term collaborations with global research teams and local academic societies. 5Execute research projects and keep communicating and networking with all related stakeholders. 6 Adhere to ABB integrity and compliance policies.

Qualifications for the role

1 Ph.D. degree in power electronics or other related electrical engineering majors. 2 Solid theoretical background in the following areas with publications in renowned transactions / journals. -Variable speed drive topologies - Magnetic component design - Power semiconductors application (Such as device modeling, gate drive, heat dissipation design, condition monitoring, failure analysis, etc.) - AC/DC and DC/DC power converters - EMC design 3 Experiences of the following areas is a plus: - PCBA design - General programming skills on DSP or FPGA. - Hands-on experience in commissioning. 4 Self-motivated, high curiosity and able to work under pressure. 5 Team player with communication and interpersonal skills 6 Good in both oral and written English
