Position Summary The Analytical Specialist leads a self-directed team of Technicians and Technologists that independently resolve requests for testing which are generated by Product Design Engineers and Scientists. This person will supervise a team of analysts, leading and coaching them in coordinating work and establishing priorities to meet project objectives for the R&D organization with a full understanding of the instrumentation and applications of methods within the Analytical lab. Responsibilities Supervise a team of 3 to 5 analytical colleagues and provides developmental feedback and annual appraisals of team member performance Act as an active coach for colleagues and provides leadership Understand and communicate project priorities and coordinate analytical resources to meet customer deadlines Identify and remove roadblocks to efficiently complete testing Provide verbal and/or written updates to engineers and product groups as necessary Lead and coordinate the team in planning and execution of experiments and laboratory tasks training and instructing others to perform them Identify, implement, and document continuous improvement efforts and opportunities May also perform additional duties as assigned What we are looking for Experience supervising professional staff directly or indirectly (i.e., coordinator, supervisor, team lead) Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a similar science field with full understanding and practical working knowledge of chemistry and electrochemistry principles 2+ years experience in a laboratory setting or similar environment Effective written and verbal communication with strong interpersonal skills Experience with method development and documentation Proficient at MS Office products Exposure to health risks or conditions may require the use of Personal Protective Equipment What we prefer Analytical chemistry techniques and applications experience Experience assigning resources, prioritizing, and scheduling tasks Come join us!
