Quantity Surveyor (SMPP – Fabrication/EPC – Mining/Offshore) – Walvis Bay

Preferably Namibian National or alternatively South African National willing to relocate
QS Qualification
6 -8-years’ experience in SMPP Fabrication and EPC/EPCM Projects – NOT Civils/Construction
Produce project plans and detailed work breakdown structure and continuously update
Assist with managing tender process - drafting, submission & follow up
Reviewing construction plans and prepare quantity and cost requirements
Applying value management techniques on the onset of the project where appropriate and applicable, and involve Senior Management where necessary
Track lead times of materials and project execution, escalate any deviances to management and suggest preventative measures
Process improvement - identifying and act on ways to improve internal systems and processes
Liaising with site managers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors on budget management
Procurement of materials as per tender requirements
Scrutinize maintenance and material cost, as well as suppliers and sub-contractors to ensure best commercial position for Kraatz
Take ownership of estimation and project cost planning activities
Ensure project cost variances and control processes are effectively and proactively managed
Engage with clients and external stakeholders
Visit construction sites to gather information for tenders/projects
Establish and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Work collaboratively with personnel across all business units
Ensure compliance to SHEQ legislation
Access and advise on project feasibility
Ensure customer requirements are clearly specified
Report any client related difficulties to management
Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations and industry standards
Manage profitability of projects
Assist in the resolution of disputes related to costs and contracts
Ensure professional communications with clients to meet the company standards and expectations.
Execute departmental and individuals’ strategy to support Opco strategy
Keep confidential documents and trade secrets of the Company secure.
Ensure proprietary knowledge are documented and safeguarded for the Company.
Attend to any reasonable request made by the line manager that falls within your scope of work.
Attend meetings, training courses, workshops or seminars as required.
Adhere to Company policies and procedures and maintain Company standards.
