Job Description
Role overview
To join a team managing several products ranging from multi-asset to global, local, and African equity. This is an analyst role, building the quantitative tools and information processing to support idea generation, research process and portfolio construction. This role is an end-to-end role requiring data warehousing, processing, modelling, and outputting. These inputs will form part of the investment debate and the quantitative analyst will be expected to present and argue their views and participate in the final investment decision.

Collaborate with the team in designing and implementing quantitative research studies to enhance risk and return outcomes for clientsInvestigate new ideas and relationships and translate these into actionable investment recommendationsPresent investment ideas and participate in the investment debate to internal and external clientsParticipate in the team’s AI initiativesReview and continuously improve screening, portfolio management and other data toolsRequirements: skills, qualifications and experience required
At least 3 years’ experience gained in an investments / quants / modelling roleHonors/Masters in Mathematics / Financial Mathematics / Statistics / Data Science/EngineeringStrong programming skills in Python / RExperience in SQL and web development will be advantageousExperience in working with large data sets, and performing quantitative & statistical analysis in Advanced Excel & VBA (Barra, I-Maps & FactSet preferred)Deep interest in markets, finance, quants and portfolio constructionCompetencies

Information and Business AdviceProvide specialist advice on the interpretation and application of policies and procedures, resolving queries and issues and referring very complex or contentious issues to others.
Business Performance MetricsLead projects or area within the realm of business performance metrics involving identification, development, and tracking of key performance indicators.
Operational ComplianceMaintain and renew a deep knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, and ensure own work adheres to required standards. Or identify, within the team, patterns of noncompliance with the organization's policies and procedures and with relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, taking appropriate action to report and resolve these and escalating issues as appropriate.
