**Job Title: Quality Technician**
**Job Description**
The Technician will be responsible for ensuring the quality of finished product resin by pulling samples from large gaylord totes (3-inch probe), bringing them to the quality lab, and running basic tests to meet the specifications. The Technician is responsible for performing analyses on the product at each stage of the process.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform analysis in support of identifying new plastic feed streams (type, description, color, density, gravity, and percent of contaminants) using lab instrumentation.
+ Provide QC support (sample retains, contamination analysis, QC data input, and production feedback) to achieve maximum product quality and assure minimal field quality complaints.
+ Sample and evaluate inbound material from receiving, as required.
+ Perform incoming inspection of inbound materials for evaluation.
+ Gain an understanding of basic machine operation of each system.
+ Understand, follow, and apply information from the Run Instruction Sheet (RIS).
+ Regularly audit and ensure production associates are using clean boxes, liners, and skids.
+ Monitor inventory levels of chemicals and equipment and work with purchasing to obtain proper supplies.
+ Oversee and maintain the storage of production run sample area.
+ Calibrate scales, complete calibration log, and report inequities to supervisor.
+ Populate Excel documents with pertinent information concerning density and moisture levels.
+ Work with management staff in the Lab training program for all new associates in regard to proper lab and quality control procedures.
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience in a manufacturing environment.
+ Basic math skills, including adding, subtracting, and calculating percentages.
+ Good handwriting for maintaining records.
+ Quality control and quality assurance experience.
+ Mechanical skills including the use of calipers and micrometers.
+ Experience in visual inspection and injection mold processes.
+ Ability to stand for the duration of the shift outside of breaks.
+ Ability to reach shoulder height into totes.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Sit-down forklift experience is nice to have.
+ Ability to work mandated Saturdays if business dictates.
+ Dexterity and physical ability to handle the tasks required.

**Work Environment**
Night Shift 11:30pm – 8:00am, Sunday (night) – Thursday (night). Our facility is a traditional manufacturing environment with large machines, some two stories high. The work involves some dust and noise, so hearing and eye protection is required. Employees must be willing to climb stairs or use aerial lifts to troubleshoot and fix jams. The environment can get hot in the summer and is comfortable but cool in the winter. Dock workers spend more time loading and unloading trucks. PPE/Dress Code: No baggy clothing, tank tops, or low-cut shirts. No large holes, rips, or tears in clothing. Steel or composite toe shoes/boots are required. No jewelry or loose clothing. Long hair must be secured. No shorts or saggy pants. Good bodily hygiene is a must. No cell phones or smart watches allowed on the production floor.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, Indiana.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
