JOB SUMMARY:  Under the direction of our Quality Systems or a Project Manager an Intern in manufacturing provides basic engineering analysis and support on a variety of plant-wide projects. An Intern conducts quality systems task/project work as assigned by staff.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Conduct time study of various Quality Systems functions.Conduct analysis of fat claims to measure x-ray rejects.Perform SSOP/ATP review.Maintains accurate records and documentation of all tests.Work with Quality Systems staff to complete all task/projects on time.Work with Quality Systems staff to make oral/written presentations of findings.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  must have completed at least one year of college with a focus toward food science, animal/meat science, manufacturing, a similar emphasis

 

Experience:

A strong interest in understanding food processing and the process of quality assurance involved with the manufacturing of food type products

 

Knowledge of:

Basic PC word processing/ spreadsheet softwareBasic Food Preparation Techniques/Safe Food Handling GMP’sBasic Research SkillsCreativity and Passion to make food betterBasic Presentation Skills

Skill and ability to:

Communicate effectively with mentor verbally and in writingRead, process, and follow written direction with a high degree of accuracyWork effectively in a general business environment, with a focus on high levels of quality and customer serviceAct in accordance with GSF's Values and Creed
