Reference PE002885 Location Eastern Cape, Port Elizabeth Salary Interval Monthly Package None-negotiable Description Our client in the Manufacturing industry is currently looking to employ a Quality Specialist to their team in Port Elizabeth.

Requirements:
Grade 12 Certificate, with Mathematics and Science as subjects Certificate in Quality Assurance. Quality Assurance Diploma/ Engineering Diploma - Preferable Yellow belt six sigma (preferably green belt) Minimum of 3 - 5 years in OEM manufacturing environment (Preferable Tier 1, or Chemistry Industry tier N) Minimum of at least 1- 2 direct reports Good understanding of IATF 16949, Automotive core tools. OEM Specific Requirements Good understanding of Statistical tools and indices   Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with applicable automotive industry quality standards, including IATF 16949 and OEM-specific requirements (Q1, IQB). Perform verification and validation of implemented improvements, change processes, and new product launches. Conduct layered process audits. Support area audit findings by identifying root causes and implementing corrective and systemic actions based on fast response methodology. Enhance internal supplier performance to improve the quality of work in progress products and services. Attend daily meetings as a key team member of the fast response team to drive resolution of out-of-control defects and ensure closure of all exit criteria. Develop and maintain control plans; serve as a member of the FMEA cross-functional team. Supervise product and process inspectors, providing support in decision-making on segregated nonconforming products. Review and sign off on all inspection records, using them as feedback for inspectors. Perform archiving and ensure retrievability of records in accordance with the company’s record retention policy. Monitor significant characteristics using statistical tools and data acquisition software. Conduct measurement system analysis on measurement devices listed in the control plan. Attend daily scrap meetings, offering input and support for out-of-control conditions. Ensure defects are accurately captured and failure modes are correctly identified; support defect reduction action plans to meet operational budgets. Provide weekly summary reports to the QC manager. Serve as the area custodian for quality control and quality assurance. Conduct daily on-the-job observations for product and record compliance. Support the resolution of customer complaints. Contribute to the lesson learned database and coordinate the issuance and awareness training of quality alerts, one-point lessons, and quality focus points. Comply with all legal requirements concerning health, safety, and environment (HSE). Promote a positive culture and awareness regarding HSE matters. Ensure each team member understands their roles and abides by established rules and OEM-specific requirements. Maintain discipline in the work environment. Define and communicate the roles and responsibilities of each team member.
