Quality Manager

 

SUMMARY OF ROLE:

The Quality Manager Plans, coordinates, and directs quality program designed to ensure quality control and quality assurance of the production of products consistent with established standards by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.  Plant Manager and/or Quality Engineer will serve as backup during vacancy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Formulates and maintains quality objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals.  Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.  Plans and oversees the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned product or component. Applies statistical process control (SPC) and Six-Sigma methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.  Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality activities.  Keeps management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality activities and actions being taken to improve the situation.  Prepares and presents technical and program information to the management team.  Directs workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.  Designs and implements quality training programs (e.g., Six Sigma, Kepner-Tregoe, and SPC) to key personnel in conjunction with managers.  Investigates and maintains customer complaints records and establish projects/programs to reduce or eliminate top issues.

 

YOU BRING THESE SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university is preferred. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products is required. HACCP certified. SQF Practitioner
