Quality Manager
Job Summary: Plans, coordinates, directs and administers quality assurance program designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates. Identifies short and long-term departmental goals and strategies in support of the company's objectives. Provides technical support to manufacturing regarding quality issues. Principal Duties & Responsibilities: Develops, maintains and implements internal quality assurance policies and procedures in accordance with ISO9000/AS9100 and other requirements imposed by the customers and governmental agencies. Schedules and conducts required quality management meeting to review the quality system to determine adherence and adequacy. Develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product. Formulates and maintains quality control objectives and coordinates objectives with production procedures in co-operations with other plant managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs. Identifies the monthly, quarterly and yearly goals and formulates plan and strategies to achieve the goals and objectives. Directs workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products. Plans, promotes, and organizes capabilities and training activities related to product quality and reliability. Investigates and adjusts customer complaints regarding quality. Directs and coordinates the overall quality specifications and standards for raw materials, processes and finished products. Ensures compliance with government regulations. Ensure that all employees in QA Department are trained to perform their job effectively. Direct the continuing review of the QA Program, and formulates new or revised procedures to effect improvements and efficiency on a company-wide basis. Contacts customers and suppliers, when necessary to discuss specific quality problems. Develop QA plans or procedures that will assure production of finished product that will meet quality specifications and standards. Reviews research on product defects and recommends modifications in products or quality standards where warranted. Point of contact for internal, customer, QMS, DQR, and NADCAP/special process audits, sources inspections, and surveys. Establishes and maintains a company-wide calibration system program. Maintains record keeping of quality inspection/test reports and manufacturing activities related to quality. Participates in the Material Review Board's investigation and decision of non-conforming products. Assigns, manages, coordinates, and reviews / approves corrective and preventative action responses submitted. Manage and coordinate Customer and Supplier non-conformances or escapes. Monitor outside Suppliers and maintain an approved source list, while reviewing and approving OSP and Customer purchase orders. Point of contact for internal and customer audits. Perform other duties as assigned Conform to company safety policies and procedures. Work in a team environment. The pay scale for this position ranges from $110,000- $158,000 annually.
