Job Description
As a Quality Inspector II, you will perform in-process and final inspections of products used in airframe and missile manufacturing. You will analyze engineering blueprints, process specifications, and manufacturing planning documents to determine the nature and extent of inspection requirements.
ResponsibilitiesDetermine the most practical inspection method and technique, plan the sequence of operation, and select precision measuring instruments and equipment to dimensionally inspect units.Conduct surface table inspections using standard positioning, measuring, and layout instruments and equipment.Perform first article, receiving inspection, in-process inspection, and final inspection assignments on a wide variety of airframe parts and aerospace assemblies/components.Witness first piece part production and certify acceptability, observe and perform in-process inspection during component build-up and sub-assembly stages, and conduct final assembly inspections.Inspect incoming metallic and fiber materials, plastic and rubber compounds for correct formulation, serialization, identification, cure date, and shelf life.Verify vendor and material certifications, check heat codes, batch and lot numbers to assure product traceability, and certify proper mixing and blending of bonding agents and adhesives.Inspect reinforced plastic and rubber products for defects such as delaminating, blisters, porosity, bond, elasticity, gauge surface smoothness, and similar characteristics.Check configuration and part dimensions with or without the aid of assembly check gauges, fixtures, and tooling.Monitor oven and cure processes, record temperature readings and dwell time, and perform or observe pressurization and leak tests using plant air, nitrogen, and helium.Coordinate rejections with MRB, engineering, and customer representatives for depositions and process refinement.Assemble end item documentation for review and acceptance of finished products, maintain history files, records, and reports.Essential Skills5+ years of related Quality Control inspection experience in aerospace.Proficiency in reading and analyzing engineering drawings and blueprints.Proficiency in using inspection tools such as calipers, scales, height gauges, optical aids, micrometers, and GD&T.Experience in production processes such as assembly, forming, tooling, welding, heat treat, and cleaning.Knowledge of metallic materials such as stainless, nickel, titanium, and aluminum.Experience with composite materials and production processes such as elastomers, resins, and composite reinforcement material.Familiarity with AS9102 standards and software, and military specifications.Good organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate documentation.Problem-solving skills including root cause analysis and corrective actions.Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.Proficiency with the use of the Internet, MS Word, and Outlook.Additional Skills & QualificationsASQ Certified Quality Inspector preferred.Experience in an AS9100 production environment.Experience using Net-Inspect standards and software preferred.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.High School degree or GED required; related AA or trade school degree preferred.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
Work in a large aerospace manufacturing company with approximately 500 employees. The company specializes in both high and low pressure metallic ducting systems and is the primary source of rocket propulsion lines for NASA and the U.S. space launch system industry.
