Job Description

The Inspector position is responsible for inspecting products for conformance to specifications and dimensions. This role requires familiarity with GD&T and involves inspecting manufactured Aerospace Honeycomb Seals used in turbines and other parts of planes. Inspections will include weld integrity, open nods, ICR (final inspections), dimensional, and visual inspections.

ResponsibilitiesUnderstand, follow, and execute Quality Policy, System Procedures, and operations Manuals.Identify quality problems and recommend solutions.Use inspection planning tools and perform product audits.Assist QE by performing dimensional/visual inspection of returned parts and gathering all documents required to complete a C & CA procedure.Participate in out-of-specification and failure investigations and recommend corrective actions.Demonstrate knowledge of statistical terms and techniques (SPC); ability to plot data and recognize out-of-control conditions.Fully understand how to use measuring tools such as a Caliper and Micrometer.Perform dimensional and visual inspections.Essential SkillsMinimum of 3 years of experience in quality inspection.Experience in the aerospace, mechanical, or machining field.Proficiency with calipers, micrometers, pi tapes, and optical comparators.Ability to pass customer-required DQR classes.Knowledge of GD&T.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience or knowledge with CMM.Experience with 1st Article Inspection.Experience with Optical Comparator.Why Work Here?

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
