Job Description

Position Summary

Lead, motivate, and develop staff members in assigned Quality Inspection Lab. Monitor and improve inspection lab metrics and processes. Inspect and evaluate components to determine if they are compliant to all HydraForce specifications.

Duties and Responsibilities

Train, guide, and mentor inspectorsMonitor and improve inspection metric reportsArrange tasks and personnel according to inspection lab needsMonitor and assign priority to inspection tasksReview inspection reports and determine if material can be accepted or rejectedIdentify, communicate, and improve quality issues in assigned areaSubmit Non-Conformance Material Reports (NCMR) for deviations to inspection processGenerate Temporary Deviation Request (TDR) to request deviation to inspection processCreate and edit inspection routers and templatesInspect for compliance to standard and record dataUnderstand and communicate engineering specifications on control documentsCalibrate gauge and perform gauge studiesCommunicate inspection results and details with internal teamCoordinate 7S activities in assigned areaComply with all safety and sanitation regulationsComplete any other tasks as assigned by supervisor

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

Leads a team of inspectors in the quality inspection lab.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:

Ability to walk/stand for long periods of timeLift and move a minimum of 30 pounds without assistanceRepetitive hand/arm use

Work Environment

Work time is spent in a warehouse environment where temperatures are often warm or cool, depending upon the season, and noise level can be moderate to highProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

QualificationsA high school graduate or GED5+ years experience in mechanical inspection and manufacturing environment preferredAbility to follow inspection processes and plansExperience with quality control equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, surface, comparator, roughness gauges, etc.Experience with advanced quality control equipment such as: Hommel, Keyence, Spring tester, Hardness tester, Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), Optical comparator preferredProficient with MS Windows and Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)Experience with GD&T technical specifications, Work Instructions, and drawingsThe ability to see details at close rangeAbility to train as per the documented processWork independently with minimal supervisionExhibit ethical independence and quality focused judgment of the parts and processClear communication and effective interaction with other departments and suppliers

Additional Information

The US hourlr rate is $22.50- $30.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, work experience and job knowledge, complexity of the role, job location, etc. The Recruiter can share more details about the specific salary range during the interview process.
