This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, and Security. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.
As part of a diverse and hardworking team of quality engineers, you will develop and execute commercial quality processes for the design, test, and manufacture of engines. Our team is responsible for implementing quality initiatives that will support development and low-rate engine production. This position requires a passion for solving sophisticated problems and providing operable solutions; act with minimal direction and take ownership; and be adaptable as we work on a variety of applications and systems.

Establish, implement, maintain, and enforce quality system processes that support products in development and production environmentsMeasure, analyze, and improve quality system performance consistent with organization quality goalsReview and approve manufacturing build documents including work orders and nonconformance records.Responsible for control of product quality of casting. Continuous improvement of process/product such that the castings meet or exceed customer expectations.Perform periodic audits of the application of our quality system in accordance with AS9100Participate in engineering design reviews and make recommendations to improve the quality and manufacturability of new designsRecommend and improve initiatives and/or changes that will improve product and system qualityProvide quality assurance domain expertise to inspection, manufacturing, and test for the Manufacturing teamCollaborate with internal and external customers on quality related concerns; develop and present training materials to build quality awareness.Use statistical and graphical analysis techniques to disposition yield and dimensional elements of the casting process.Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of a B.S. in engineering with 5+ Years of relevant experience.Quality experience in production environment. Aerospace, space launch, or military or commercial aviation preferredInvestment casting experience in AerospaceFamiliarity with AS9100 or ISO9000 Quality Management System and/or related quality systems and programsAbility to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of manufacturing fabrication processes such as Machining, Welding, NDT and Measurement SciencesKnowledge of Nonconforming and MRB process.Knowledge of First Article Inspection per AS9102Knowledge of SPC principles.Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and TolerancingKnowledge in Causal Analysis tools, including cause & effect diagrams, Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEA), 5-why, fault tree analysis, etc.Relevant experience in transitioning a product from development, through production to operationsQMS audit experience and quality performance measurement analysis capabilitiesSix Sigma Green, Black Belt, or comparable certificationExperience using CMM, Blue Light Scan Data to characterize components.Proficiency in using Solidworks or related CAD package.Experience with Polyworks, GOM Inspect, or equivalent.Compensation Range for:
