Job Description

We are seeking a Quality Engineer with a strong background in machining and familiarity with metallurgical concepts. The ideal candidate will have experience with NADCAP, AS9100, and continuous improvement principles. This role involves interfacing with customers, resolving quality issues, and contributing to lean manufacturing initiatives.

ResponsibilitiesInterface with customers and manage customer communications regarding quality issues.Act as the point person for supplier quality and respond to customer quality requests.Resolve quality issues by analyzing and adjusting parameters.Represent the quality department when talking to customers and during qualification of packages.Implement continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles.Work on machining, inspection, and testing related to quality tasks.Essential SkillsNADCAP experienceFamiliarity with metallurgical concepts and material propertiesAS9100 experience5+ years of experience as a Quality EngineerExperience with continuous improvement and lean manufacturingStrong background in machining and machine shop experienceSupplier quality managementRoot cause analysisExperience with quality management and quality engineeringExperience with APQP, PPAP, and audit processesAdditional Skills & QualificationsLab testing experienceNADCAP certificationDimension inspection experienceExperience in materials science, chemical engineering, and metal formingWork Environment

The role is based in a forging site specializing in metal fabrication, including steel and aluminum. The company is a leading forging company, looking to expand its customer capabilities with more machined parts for aerospace manufacturing. The company is rapidly growing with significant investments planned for the next 10 years. The Quality Engineer will perform daily quality activities, including resolving quality issues with customers, ensuring qualification orders are processed correctly, and assisting with continuous improvement initiatives from a quality standpoint.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $110000.00
