Quality Engineer
Job Description

Onsite - This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Rochester, New York on a full-time basis.

The Role
Central focus to the organization regarding quality for Global Propulsion System (GPS) across the entire development process, through manufacturing, and into the field.

What You'll Do

Perform early issue identification, tracking and resolution to ensure segment leadership.

Provide clear and timely communication to Quality management relative to quality issues.

 Preform problem solving and continuous improvement activities

Assist in validation of production components meeting print specifications

Facilitate Quality Review meetings and integrity of presentation materials.

Ability to coach, teach and audit elements of GM Quality Manual and GMS BIQ Principle and Elements, ISO and IATF standards.  Ensure plant process aligned with changing corporate Quality Requirements.

Recommend innovation solutions to global quality requirement documentation structure.

Facilitate Quality System Certification Process – (i.e. ISO 9000 / IATF 16949)

Manage the QMS Audit Program / 3 Year Review Process / Plant Internal Audits

Participate in root cause analysis & corrective actions

Provide statistical analysis of manufacturing process data

Lead and support Continuous Improvement (Scrap reduction, throughput improvement, etc.)

Verify compliance to quality requirements and procedures

Additional Job Description

Your Skills & Abilities

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and/or related field.

1+ year experience in Quality Engineering

Ability to manipulate, visualize, understand, and communicate data

Ability to provide weekend/holiday/vacation support as needed

Ability to work any shift as needed

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge

Knowledge of common problem-solving methodologies (Six Sigma, Red X, Shainin, etc.)

Ability to safely operate laboratory equipment

Microsoft Power BI

Minitab – Intermediate or Advanced Skills

Strong Built in Quality knowledge

Understanding of ISO/IATF

This job may be eligible for relocation benefits.

Compensation:

The expected base compensation for this role is: $67,900.00 - $104,100.00. Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.

Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
