Summary

The Quality Engineer is expected to use engineering tools, lean manufacturing tools, computer software and practical experience to improve manufacturing processes and business procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

Develop and maintain quality control measures and procedures. Perform root cause analysis investigations by leading cross functional teams.Monitor Compliance, Quality Process and Safety within process development.Create quality alert and related field service literature.Develop production validation and audit procedures.Coordinate containment activities for quality control related itemsDevelop, implement, and audit ISO compliant processes and procedures.Analyze data through monthly reporting of internal and external quality findings and expensesCollaborate with Design Engineering to ensure designed components and systems are installed as required.Collaborate with production manufacturing to produce the most efficient process for installing truck mounted equipment.Maintain revision control on controlled documents.Create written and visual work instructions and train others to do so.Review installation manuals and/or correspond with manufacturer to ensure requirements are met when installing purchased equipment.Collaborate with sales staff to ensure that customer equipment expectations are met. 

Required Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree and/or a minimum of 1 years’ experience in vocational truck building, or relevant work experience in quality

Qualifications include:

Microsoft Office – Proficient in Excel and WordAbility to read and understand schematics, drawings and 3D models Reading and writing technical publications

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

PDM experience Certified ISO Auditor First Article/PPAP experience

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold, and extreme heat.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Work well within a matrix organization.
