The Quality Engineer will support cross-functional teams to assist in identifying risks, investigating quality problems, identifying and implementing quality controls, and qualifying new or revised products and processes.  Responsible for ensuring product quality and specification compliance for sourced products and materials for the Commercial Division. Some travel will be expected and availability for international conference calls will be required.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   

RESPONSIBILITIES\:
•    Responsible for the development and execution of qualification plans for new products and changes to existing products/processes.
•    Work closely with cross-functional personnel to identify and control potential quality issues in new and existing products.
•    Enforce a corrective action system that ensures the timely and permanent resolution of all failures to meet established quality requirements.
•    Enforce quality, safety and compliance requirements.
•    Provide quality technical support (as requested) to various functional groups.
•    Developing and Implementing Advanced Product Quality Planning tools including Failure Modes & Effects Analysis, Control Plans, and PPAP.
•    Collaborate with internal/external groups to help determine root cause of customer/consumer defects, complaints, and corrective/preventative actions.
•    Analyze data from a variety of sources to identify quality improvement opportunities and opportunities to reduce Cost of Quality.
•    Coordinate the timely review of customer complaints, thorough analysis of root causes, and effective implementation of corrective actions.
•    Collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data in reports to management with recommendations.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   

QUALIFICATIONS\:

 


•    Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical engineering or science discipline.  
•    Minimum of 3 years of operations/manufacturing experience.
•    Minimum of 3 years of quality experience.
•    Working knowledge of quality methods and systems (statistics, reliability, sampling and auditing).
•    Knowledge of APQP/PPAP/FMEA/Control plan/MSA/Error-proofing. 
•    Experienced background in various types of manufacturing.  Working knowledge in the plastics, glass, metals, and/or electric commodities is preferred.
•    Strong project management skills.
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel & PowerPoint.
•    Demonstrates knowledge of problem solving techniques and strategies, including root cause analysis, 8D, 5Why, PDCA methodologies.
•    Exposure and experience in six-sigma, lean, FMEA and team-based project management is highly desirable.
•    Must understand how to determine risk associated with level of testing and inspection performed to make good decisions based upon the analysis of those tests and inspections. 

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\:

Consumer products industry experience

Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt

Working knowledge in the plastics, glass, metals, and/or electric commodities

Manufacturing experience in countries outside of the US

Knowledge/experience in QMS implementation preferable

ISQ/QS/TS quality system working knowledge and auditing experience preferred

ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Quality Engineer (CQE) is preferred

Excellent data analysis skills using MS Excel and Access products or other data analysis tool; ERP database working knowledge desirable
