Job Description

The Quality Engineer participates in automation (and manual testing, where required) for the application to support the release of quality solutions. A Quality Engineer is responsible for the generation of a strategic plan to improve the business processes and increase production output.

Creating quality standards and testing systems to reflect efficiency, reliability, and performance

The creation of documentation that reports issues and errors relating to the production process with efforts placed to find a solution

Contribute to the application technical roadmap and vision

The ability to communicate complex procedures to other colleagues

Working with a team building software in an agile manner

Comfortable with pair programming

Develop inspection methods to analyze product quality

Improve product quality by making recommendations for change

Work together with relevant teams and departments to improve products

Ensure products adhere to company and industry quality standards

Brainstorm ideas to create solutions for identified problems or defects

Document test results/reports and share findings after inspections are carried out

Implement a working system to ensure conformity and accuracy in the production process

Contribute to test estimation and planning activities

Analyze and design automated test scripts based on user stories and non-functional requirements

Create, implement, and execute automated test scripts

Test data creation inline with test plans and test strategies

Use DevOps practices to create and execute test scripts, this includes CI/CD pipeline integration and source code management.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

Matric certificate with ISTQB/equivalent tertiary qualification in testing and theory techniques

2+ years of experience in test automation

Experience with Java or Python

Automation using SoapUI

Knowledge of testing frameworks, methodologies, and tools

Knowledge of cloud-based development is desired 

Determine test environment, tools, and data requirements

Automation using Selenium or Cucumber or similar tools (Advantageous)
