Quality Control Specialist

Title: Quality Control Specialist

Location: South Sioux City, NE

Report To: Quality Manager

The Quality Control Specialist provides leadership and direction to the South Sioux City departments by performing quality tasks to support operations and meet customer expectations.  This role will cover vacations/absences in the Quality Control lab on a designated basis.

Your role will be:

Analyzing samples and monitor conformance to specifications and provide technical and professional assistance to operations management as needed to support the plant’s quality goals.Accountable for finished product and in-process quality data within expected time frame and stored as required.  Prioritize testing based on business needs and departmental goals.Maintain complete, accurate and legible test records, in accordance with Company policy and record keeping procedure. Assist with laboratory testing troubleshooting and program maintenance.Support all departments with CAPAS, NCR’s, Audit Findings, and follow-ups for testing errors, lab audit corrective actions, good laboratory practices, and laboratory sample shipment errors.Perform SAP finished product usage decisions, as needed.Assist with OPRP/CCP record reviews.Assist with Environmental Program data collection, heat maps, and vector swabbing.Assist with investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for out of specification testing results.Create and maintains documents, SOPs and reports related to the Quality Management System.Involved in continuous certification with ISO 9001, FSC 22000 and CFIA regulations.Support the compliance with all plant regulatory, GMP Audits, ISO, Quality, Food Safety systems, GMP policies, guidelines, standards, and requirements.Utilizing the following methodologies where appropriate – i.e. Project Management, Continuous Improvement, Root Cause Analysis, Effective Communication, 5S.Motivate and support continuous improvement initiatives and assist with delivery and/or follow-up/verification activities as required.Assist with internal, 3rd party, customer and regulatory audits when needed.Demonstrating a willingness to participate in plant safety initiatives and safe laboratory practices while maintaining work environment in a safe, clean, and organized manner.A working knowledge and ability to follow site safety rules and specific safety practices.Commitment to support and participate in our strong Safety culture of zero injuries and illnesses.Fill laboratory shift vacancies, as needed.

Strong time management and organizational skills.Skills to create control charts for summarizing data collection and testing performance.Ability to build consensus and foster positive relationships.Ability to communicate across functional lines and at all levels.Ability to learn and apply Ingredion’s Safety, Environmental, GMP, and Quality standards.

Your profile needs these qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or equivalent in work history.Experience in successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously with results consistent with management’s expectations.Experience working with ISO 9001 and GFSI audit schemes.PCQI CertificationOutstanding analytical laboratory techniques.Manufacturing knowledge, preferably in food manufacturing or similar industry.Demonstrated commitment to the promotion of a safe work environment.Able to work with minimal supervision to accomplish tasks.Skilled at working effectively within a culturally diverse environment.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work any 12-hour shift schedule in a continuous operation facility.

Pay Range:

$67,520.00-$90,026.67 Annual

This pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Final base salary will be determined based on several factors which may include but are not limited to responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data and applicable bargaining agreement (if any).

Incentive Compensation:

As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Ingredion Annual Incentive Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus.
