Quality Control Specialist

Job Description – Quality Control Specialist (QCS)

SUMMARY

This role will perform production quality control testing on in-process and finished products following Axalta Test Methods, work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures using laboratory instrumentation and equipment to ensure product quality, regulatory compliance, and customer requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform tests and evaluate product to ensure compliance with quality control specifications.Color discrimination and color acceptability.Weighing and spraying of various products.Bending and lifting various container sizes weighing up to 40 lbs. to perform testing requirements.Maintain safety standards and thorough understanding of site procedures.Perform basic computer skills for various programs and equipment.Provide production laboratory support for technical teamMaintains laboratory inventoryPerforms various safety/housekeeping activities and auditsPerforms equipment standardizations/calibrations, as neededManage hazardous waste according to site policy, area specific procedures and training.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience:

Knowledge and ability to safely utilize laboratory instrumentationSkills to perform basic math functionsAbility to successfully complete Famsworth-Munsell color testAbility to recognize, address, and perform basic problem solvingAbility to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writingAbility to work a 12-hour rotating shift with occasional overtimeAbility to prioritize and adapt quickly to changing requirementsAbility to operate safely and within the site safety guidelines

Computer Skills:

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is requiredExperience with SAP or similar ERP is preferred

Other Qualifications:

Satisfactory background screening.Satisfactory drug screen.Medical clearance to wear a respirator.Satisfactory results in pre-employment tests.Must be able to work in the United States legally.Must be able to and agree to sign a non-compete non-disclosure agreement.
