We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quality Automation Test Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing quality improvements on our production line systems. Your primary focus will be on implementing automated solutions to improve product quality in production line work cells. You will be utilizing your expertise in LabVIEW software, Python, Java, C++, and Bartender label software to improve production processes to reduce defects and improve product quality. You will also be responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality and compliance in our production processes, ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards through testing, and quality control activities, such as conducting outgoing product inspections, performing product and process validation audits and product validation tests, and analyzing data to identify and address quality issues to reduce product defects and reduce NCCs. 

We are looking for a Quality Automation Test Engineer. This position will be based in Buffalo Grove, IL.


Role Description:

Develop and implement quality control improvements on manufacturing production line systems, including implementing POKE YOKE solutions on functional testers and production lines to improve product quality, automate inspection processes, and increase line FPY. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for production line quality improvements, implement effective corrective action solutions - leveraging your expertise in LabVIEW and Bartender label software to implement automated solutions. Develop and implement corrective actions on functional testers and production line processes to prevent product defects by using automated test scripts with LabVIEW, C++, Python, Ethon AI, and Bartender software to automate in-line quality inspection solutions and integrate automated label printing Implement quality improvement initiatives, such as process optimization and defect prevention, to enhance product quality and increase manufacturing efficiency. Conduct root cause analysis on product defects or failures including feedback from customers and warranty returns departments identifying and implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences and reduce NCCs. Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to quality automation systems, ensuring minimal impact on production schedules. Identify opportunities for process optimization, efficiency improvements, and cost reduction by leveraging automation technologies and best practices.

Basic Qualifications:

Associate degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. 1+ years’ experience as a Quality Automation Test Technician, with a focus on implementing quality improvements 1+ years’ experience in designing and implementing automated quality test systems in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of manufacturing processes, automation technologies, and quality improvement methodologies. Proficiency in programming languages such as LabVIEW, Bartender, Python, Java, C++

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with continuous improvement methodologies, such as 8Ds, is preferred. Experience with SAP is preferred Familiarity with statistical analysis techniques and tools for data-driven decision-making. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with a keen attention to detail. Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
