Job Description
An IATF Lead Auditor is responsible for planning, conducting, and managing audits to ensure compliance with the IATF Automotive Quality Management System (QMS). This role ensures the manufacturing processes meet customer requirements, regulatory standards, and continuous improvement objectives within the automotive industry. The auditor identifies non-conformities, recommends corrective actions, and supports quality improvement initiatives.
ResponsibilitiesImplement audit plans based on IATF requirements.Conduct audits in preparation for certification.Coordinate audit activities across departments.Ensure audits are conducted in accordance with ISO14001.Verify compliance with IATF, ISO 9001, and customer-specific requirements.Support and monitor the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.Work closely with Quality, Production, and Engineering teams to enhance process controls.Prepare audit reports internally, including findings, observations, and recommendations.Communicate all findings to the Quality Manager.Provide training and mentorship on IATF16949 auditing techniques and quality principles.Participate in problem-solving initiatives (8D, FMEA, PPAP, APQP, SPC, MSA).Support continuous improvement projects to enhance process efficiency and defect reduction.Assist with the document control of all plant documents.Essential SkillsExperience with IATF, TIS16949, and quality engineering.Internal audit and quality assurance experience.Root cause analysis and auditing expertise.Proficiency with quality tools (PPAP, APQP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and 8D problem-solving).Strong knowledge of IATF16949 and automotive quality management systems.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsEngineering degree.Minimum 3+ years of experience in quality auditing, manufacturing, or the automotive industry.Proficiency with MS Office.Experience with GM or Ford proprietary software is a plus.Experience with OEMs, Tier 1, and Tier 2 automotive suppliers.Work Environment
This role involves both office and production floor environments. On the production floor, you will be showing hourly operators the work instructions to ensure they understand their tasks.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $45.00/hr.
