Quality Assurance Training Specialist III, Q Dev US

**Description**
We are seeking someone to support our Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceutical, Inc. (BIPI) Research and Development (R&D) Quality Regulatory Compliance Training program by executing end-to-end training management, from course development through implementation and recordkeeping, for the laboratory animal related business units. Additionally, you will be tasked with harmonizing and improving training content and initiatives. This position will provide introductory and recurring training on animal techniques, represent quality training on the IACUC, and collaborate with and guide departmental colleagues.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
• Training and Teaching: Train new and existing personnel in hands-on techniques associated with common research procedures across all species and various subject matters. Identify, coordinate, and train trainers to assist with the training function. Arrange continuing education for the lab animal colleagues and researchers, including recruiting subject matter expert (SME) lecturers and presenters.
• Learning Content Development: Develop learning content, including online modules, workshops, videos, and one-on-one training sessions. Consistently look for creative ways to improve, digitize, and simplify content.
• Quality Mindset: Embrace and lead with a quality mindset, identifying and implementing quality practices into the training program. Troubleshoot processes and procedures and suggest improvements. Look for ways to automate routine procedures and tasks while maintaining quality. Actively support the 3Rs and animal welfare in training.
• Regulatory and Compliance Support: Support regulatory inspections and audits. Maintain knowledge of current animal welfare regulations and guidelines (USDA, AWA, PHS [as relates to AAALAC], ACLAM, and others) as well as FDA (GxP) and DEA regulations. Participate as the Quality Animal Care and Use Training representative on the IACUC.
• Learning Management System (LMS) Support: Support and maintain training assignments and documentation withing the LMS to ensure accurate and prompt capture of training events and records. Develop and explore LMS functions to enable the best use of the tool for R&D departments.
**Requirements**
• More than six (6) years of related experience in animal care and use.
• Scientific degree (BA or equivalent).
• LATG Certification.
• Diverse animal procedural background (handling, dosing, and varied species).
• Industry-related experience, including exposure to Good Laboratory Practices or Good Manufacturing Processes desired.
• Knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional methods, and/or learning styles.
• Excellent communication (written/verbal) skills.
• Experience providing training in a highly regulated environment to diverse stakeholders.
• Knowledge of FDA (GLP), USDA (AWA), and DEA requirements.
• Ability to work on global teams, which may require meeting outside of standard business hours.
• Comfort with public speaking and presenting.
• Computer and technology literacy (Microsoft PowerPoint, SharePoint, Excel, etc.) and ability to learn instructional design software for computer-based training creation.
• Problem-solving skills.
**Optional or Desired Skills, Experience and Abilities**
• Veterinary health background (RVT, AHT, or CHT).
• Experience with learning management systems (experience with SuccessFactors a plus).
• Experience with instructional design frameworks and tools (i.e., Articulate, or similar programs).
• Active participation in professional and trade associations.
• Publications on related topics.
**Eligibility Requirements:**
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
• Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)
• Must be 18 years of age or older
**Compensation Data**
This position offers a base salary typically between $90,000 and $147,000. The position may be eligible for a role specific variable or performance-based bonus and or other compensation elements.
