Great opportunity to get your foot in the door with one of the top Food Manufacturing Companies in the Newburyport, MA area! 3rd shift Food Quality Technician Job Description Follow the Company's Food Safety Plan and report any food safety issues immediately to the supervisor. Provide guidance to employees on proper food safety and handling practices. Verify sanitation procedures using the ATP Machine. Ensure proper documentation and recordkeeping for all food safety and quality activities as required by the food safety plan. Monitor temperatures of coolers and freezers during the shift. Verify monitoring equipment such as metal detection and weigh checks are performing properly with a verification step. Perform EMP and allergen swabbing as needed. Calibrate equipment like scales and thermometers. Conduct sensory evaluations on finished products and collect samples of ingredients, work-in-progress, and finished products for analysis. Perform monthly glass and brittle plastic audits and participate in monthly GMP audits for the facility. Inspect sanitation of areas during pre-operational setup, production (especially at product changeover), and end-of-shift. Conduct daily quality walkthroughs for each shift and follow up with necessary personnel for corrective actions. Monitor production records to ensure traceability and completion. Oversee safe food practices in production and the warehouse, focusing on personal hygiene, product storage, and temperature. Ensure proper and safe use of equipment and maintain a state of inspection readiness at all times. Monitor production to ensure proper storage and labeling of ingredients and supplies at all times. Perform any other duties as required by the Quality Assurance Manager or leadership. Hard Skills + Coordinate and oversee daily food safety functions in the plant + Monitor food safety of ingredients and products to ensure standards are met + Collect data daily from all areas of the plant to maintain food safety records + Provide food safety technical services to manufacturing, R&D, Purchasing, and Distribution + Assist Food Safety Manager, R&D, and Production in product development + Guide QA technicians as needed Work Site This is a fully on-site position in Newburyport, Massachusetts. Sunday to Thursday 1:30 am to 10:00 am (Some flexibility may occasionally be required) Work Environment Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, crouch, and climb steps. Frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle or use objects, tools, or controls. Frequently required to reach with hands and arms. Frequent lifting and occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds, with assistance required for heavier items. Ability to do overhead lifting and bending.
