Responsibilities SCOPE OF WORK The Quality Assurance Technician for Gaylor Electric is expected to understand and interpret design packages for projects and be capable of interpreting job site specifications. The ideal candidate can maintain quality control goals through training to ensure employee awareness of the roles and responsibilities regarding quality assurance. The Quality Assurance Technician must be independent self-motivated, innovative, resourceful, and possess strong organizational and communication skills. The Quality Assurance Technician in electrical installations is pivotal in ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and reliability, maintaining customer satisfaction and a competitive edge in the market POSITION REQUIREMENTS: • Uses Gaylor Core Values as tools to carry out all job responsibilities • Promotes the philosophy of Gaylor Core Values, inspires commitment to excellence and openness to effectively promote Gaylor’s culture • Fosters a culture of quality throughout Gaylor by promoting awareness and accountability • Must be self-motivated and capable of working without direct supervision • Must display sound judgement and decision making • Partners with others to identify and meet Gaylor objectives and customer needs • Works collaboratively with other departments to perform advanced, diversified, and complex tasks • Strong administrative, organization, and communication skills • Organizes and prioritizes workload to meet deadlines • Displays exceptional organization skills for record keeping and documentation purposes • Must be able to read and interpret design packages for projects and job site specifications • Familiarity with National Electrical Code and AHJ requirements • Must be computer literate and able to learn Gaylor’s operating software POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: • Interpret and maintains quality management systems to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and customer requirements • Maintains quality control procedures for each stage of the manufacturing and/or installation process and conducts regular inspections, audits, and evaluations to identify areas for improvement • Collects data for identifying trends, root causes of issues, and opportunities for improvement • Maintains accurate records and ensures documentation is complete, organized, and accessible for audits • Performs improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, and reduce defects • Works closely with team members to address quality issues, resolve conflicts, and drive continuous improvement initiatives • Monitors customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and implements corrective actions • Collaborates with team members to address customer concerns and ensure satisfaction • Identifies potential risks to product quality and mitigates risk through collaborative problem solving and contingency plans • Participates in quality control meetings with project team and/or customer• Maintains Quality and Commissioning Schedules on the jobsite • Communicates and manages open observations with installation teams WORKING CONDITIONS: • May require working in all elements (heat, cold, rain, snow, etc.) depending on job location and/or time of year • Must be able to utilize construction site sanitary facilities (port-o-lets) • Must have required hand tools at all times while at work site (waist tool belts can weigh up to 30 lbs.) • Must be able to work scheduled hours as well as overtime, as required, on short notice • Must be able to work in noisy environments • Must be able to remain calm in times of heightened emotional situations • Must work well with others as a member of a team to complete tasks PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: • Must be able to wear personnel protective equipment (i.e., hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, high visibility vest, safety harness, etc.) when required • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead for extended periods of time • Ability to lift loads of up to 51 lbs. • Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers • Ability to climb and use ladders and scaffolding of all types for extended periods of time • Possess good vision/hearing (normal or corrected) • Ability to make transition from designated employee parking areas to construction areas and be able to gain access to all levels of building/structure, even if only means of access is by OSHA approved site construction ladder or stairs still under construction but deemed safe for use • Ability to work while constantly moving • Ability to reach and stretch to position equipment, fixtures, etc. while maintaining balance • Ability to use both hands simultaneously for tying knots and for proper use of power equipment • Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring • Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits Qualifications WHAT YOU OFFER: EDUCATION: • High school graduate, or equivalent • Apprenticeship completion or relevant craft electrician certification preferred EXPERIENCE: • Three or more years in electrical preferred • NFPA 70E preferred; Journeymen license preferred • Bilingual English/Spanish speaking preferred GAYLOR ELECTRIC, INC. is an equal opportunity employer including disability and vets.
