We are seeking an energetic, skilled​ Quality Assurance Manager for an opening in our facility in Arkansas City, Kansas.
JOB SUMMARY: The Quality Assurance Manager drives improvement efforts focused on local manufacturing and laboratory practices. This person is responsible for developing the existing food safety program and providing guidance on equipment selection, procedures, and validation activities in the laboratory. This person works closely with customer relations and compliance auditors, demonstrating exemplary leadership behaviors.
ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Quality Management –Coordinates actions to ensure company and customer satisfaction objectives are metContributes to division goals and objectives for growthManages local food safety plan and related pre-requisites programsSelects laboratory equipment, develops methods, and oversees the validation and calibration programsEnsure regulatory and audit readinessDesigns reports and metrics to drive continuous improvementHas a key role within the Food Safety TeamEnsures timely release of finished productsDirects investigation of consumer complaintsMeets with customers and team members at all levels of the organization to coordinate activities related to trials, new productions, new equipment, or significant changesParticipates in and leads audits and root cause analysis activitiesProvides coverage for other positions in the quality department as neededTechnical Support – Shares knowledge of statistical process controls to improve processing methodsWorking knowledge of GLPs and can provide support in general food microbiology and chemistry applicationsServes as a resource in validating process equipment and sample testing methodsOffers guidance to the leadership team relating to FDA and PMO regulatory complianceSocial Responsibilities:
Maintain compliance with KanPak/GSF Code of Business Conduct, policies and procedures, management systems, and all applicable Environmental, Health, Safety and other regulationsAct according to KanPak’s Creed & Values QualificationsEducation/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in food science, chemistry, microbiology, or other STEM
Experience:
≥ 5 years in food manufacturing or R&D (Quality Assurance experience preferred)
≥ 3 years in a supervisory capacity
Training/Other:
Knowledge of Sanitation, GMPs, and HACCP
HACCP certificationSanitation/hygiene training certificationGSFI certification (BRC desired)Better Process Control School (desired)PCQI certification (desired)Six Sigma or other lean manufacturing experience (desired)Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Can look at a computer, walk, stand, and/or sit for long periodsCan lift 50lbsWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
