Job Description

Job Title:        Quality Analyst

Reports To:    Quality Manager

Summary:      The Quality Analyst works closely with the Quality Manager.  The Quality Analyst develops, implements, maintains, and continually improves the facility’s quality management system to ensure compliance with internal, customer, and regulatory requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may also be assigned.

Maintain quality records and reports, collect and calculate data and communicate results.
 Analyze data, make recommendations and report internal claims, trends, root causes, corrective actions, etc.
 Maintain and administer quality document control procedures.
 Investigate customer complaints, communicate and coordinate necessary actions with management and the customer.
 Identify continuous improvement needs.
 Support and coordinate internal/external audit systems such as: customers audits, ISO, Quality Risks, etc. and create corrective/preventive actions, as needed.
 Follow and actively support the quality management system, quality policy, quality objectives, quality procedures, work instructions and quality records.
 Works with other departments and vendors on known or emerging issues to resolve quality problems.
 Understand the OHSE obligations, actively support the policy and implement the guiding principles in everyday activities including GMPs.
 Maintains gas chromatography equipment, troubleshooting, when necessary, with support of 3rd party supplier.
 Implement new testing methods, when necessary.
 Facilitate quality training, as needed.
 

QUALIFICATIONS

The individual in this position must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends when needed. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree (science or engineering) with a minimum of 2 – 4 years in Quality experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, preferably packaging, food or tobacco manufacturing.
 Mathematical, computer and statistical (SPC) competencies.
 Strong knowledge of Quality processes and systems.
 Significant knowledge using MS Word, Excel (ability to create spreadsheets and formulas), PowerPoint.  MS Access desirable.
 Must be flexible and available to rotate shifts and work weekends as required.
 Familiarity with risk-based management systems.

Additional Experiences (Preferred):

Internal auditor certification: ISO 9001:2015; ISO 14001:2015; ISO 45001:2018.
 Good knowledge of problem-solving techniques (such as 8D, 5 why’s, decision tree).
 Knowledge on gas chromatography methods.
