THIS POSITION HAS NO DIRECT MANAGEMENT OR SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
POSITION SUMMARY
Test and inspect products at various stages of production process and compiles statistical data. Determines and maintains quality and reliability of products by performing the checks per established guidelines.
KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Pull products for testing at specified stages in production process
Test product for variety of qualities such as new job setup parameters, visual inspection, destructive testing, and measurement of variables
Document quality problems through inspection records and machine adjustment notices.
Must perform both visual and physical checks on both cups and lids
Must be able to perform and use the following: stack height, Rim O.D., Rim thickness, cup height, bottom depth, caliper, moisture, dyne level, ink adhesion, rewetting, scratch resistant, poly adhesion, leak test, tilt test, color matching, basis weight, tear tests, bar code scanning
Responsible for basic data entry functions on a computer as required
Checking in new orders using check off sheets, M.O. sheets, schedules and filing away completed paperwork from completed orders
Keep accurate records of daily paperwork such as case counts, scrap reports or other essential paperwork
Do statistical process control checks and document data using S.P.C. guidelines
Disseminate color variations against approved color masters or artwork
Fill sample requests, randomly inspect all incoming materials, resin color, etc
Check with packers on each line to see if they are encountering quality problems
Assist in training new quality control technicians as required
Must be able to act as liaison between the quality control department and management
Any other duties that are assigned by supervision
MANAGERIAL / SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
High school education and some college and/or related experience required; Clerical and computer skills and
good verbal communication
Required to stand and walk around continuously for 12 hours
Requires near/far acuity, depth perception and color vision
Required to tear 80 paper cups at the seams and bottoms for approximately 20 minutes each hour
Pick up and empty leak tested cups for approximately 5 minutes every half-hour
Handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms
Occasionally required to move and lift objects up to 40 pounds to shoulder level
Must be able to stoop, kneel, bend and squat.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Read and write English; Ability to understand spreadsheets, charts and technical manuals; Good phone
skills required
Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and
decimals
Read a scale
Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited
standardization exists
Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
