Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced QSHE Manager to define and implement KWAL’s quality, food safety, occupational health, safety, and environment strategy. This role is crucial in supporting the delivery of our objectives through current and future operations, ensuring alignment with Heineken policies and standards, and adherence to relevant legal and regulatory frameworks.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Departmental Strategy Formulation and Implementation: Develop and monitor QSHE departmental strategies and business plans aligned with KWAL strategies.
•    Budget Management: Prepare and manage the QSHE departmental budget to ensure optimal operations.
•    Quality Assurance: Oversee day-to-day quality control and assurance processes, driving trade quality strategies.
•    Product Development: Manage specifications for process inputs and collaborate on innovation and renovation projects.
•    Food Safety and Inspection: Implement food safety initiatives and oversee testing/inspection processes to enhance food safety measures.
•    Continuous Improvement: Drive optimisation and improvement of QSHE processes, embedding a culture of continuous improvement.
•    Risk Management: Oversee quality, health, safety, and environment audits, implementing remedial actions to mitigate risks.
•    Compliance Management: Ensure compliance with legal requirements and Group standards, maintaining integrated management systems for sustainable business growth.
•    Reporting: Prepare and submit regulatory and management reports related to QSHE to support data-driven decision-making. 
•    Stakeholder Management: Engage and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
•    People Management: Attract, develop, and retain talented individuals, fostering a positive work environment and driving continuous improvement.

 

Minimum Requirements:

Academic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a related field.

Professional Qualifications: Qualified Occupational Health and Safety practitioner (e.g., National Education Board in Occupational Safety and Health- NEBOSH), EIA/SIA assessor, Quality Systems Management, Project Management Professional (PMP), Kaizen/TPM practitioner, ESG practitioner, Lead auditor for OHS/Environment and Quality Management systems.

Experience: At least 7 years of experience, with 3 years in a management role in a manufacturing company.

Technical Competencies: In-depth knowledge of HSE and Quality Strategy development, sensory science practices, legal standards, ERP systems, process design and improvement, risk assessment, and compliance management.

Behavioral Competencies: Strong leadership skills, collaboration, business acumen, customer focus, analytical skills, effective communication, leading change, and conflict resolution.
