QM 49 Deli Manager

Position Summary

the Deli Manager is responsible for the operation of the deli area within the convenience store. The Deli Manager is responsible for preparing and serving food to customers while maintaining strict quality controls. They will complete tasks such as ordering, counting inventory, unloading trucks, and organizing stock delivered. The Deli Manager is responsible for the overall cleanliness of the deli and will be the point of contact for health inspectors. The Deli Manager will be trained and assist in a dual role as a cashier at appropriate times or when the deli is not open. 

 Key Responsibilities

Supervise and train all staff working within the deli to maintain Quality Mart, Serve Safe, and Department of Health Standards.Collaborate with the Food Service Director to execute menu offerings and updates to the offerings.Maintain appropriate inventory levels, conduct weekly counts and manage food cost through portion control, build to’s, and waste management.Always Maintain Quality Mart standards of customer service.Appropriately prepare and package all food items. Ensure dates, times, holding units and temperatures are being monitored and recorded by utilizing all hot/cold logbooks. Assuring all foods are labeled, stored and rotated properly. Track and report all waste, shortages, and contaminations, use build to’s and preparation guidelines.Keep all areas and equipment clean, safe, sanitary and maintained as required by Quality Mart, Servsafe, and Department of Health standards. This includes but is not limited to disinfecting tools, surfaces, floors, and equipment such as fridges, freezers, ovens etc. and cleaning any spills or leaks immediately.Always use proper safety equipment such as oven mitts, food handling gloves, aprons etc.., washing hands and keeping all equipment clean and sanitized regularly.Monitoring food supplies and informing the supervisor of low stock to ensure that the food preparation process isn’t disrupted or delayed due to insufficient ingredients.Always maintain a clean and appropriate uniform while being punctual for all assigned shifts, including any agreed upon for coverage. Greet all customers, co-workers, venders warmly and assist as needed.

 Requirements

Have Basic math, reading, writing and communication skills.Be able to perform repetitive work accurately, stand, bend, crouch, climb, kneel, walk and lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.Be able to work in a cooler (34’) or a freezer (-10’) for up to 30 minutes at a time.Must have strict attention to detail and excellent customer service skills.Always maintain a clean and appropriate uniform while being punctual for all assigned shifts, including any agreed upon for coverage.Assist and resolve any customer complaints to ensure all guests have a pleasant experience and notify leadership of any issues found or low stock or missing items.Follow all safety procedures, use MSDS Sheets and if applicable Food Safety procedures are all adhered to as well.Ability to follow all food preparation practices and procedures and maintain a valid Serve Safe Certificate.
