QA Technician - Evening Shift

Job Summary

\r\n

Perform various checks, monitor production to ensure that specifications are met.

\r\n

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities

\r\n\r\nPerforms checks of product quality against specifications\r\nAssures GMP, HACCP, and SOP’s are in compliance\r\nInvestigates issues related to Quality and Food Safety\r\nCollects microbiological and product samples for testing and evaluation.\r\nApplies Holds to nonconforming products and materials\r\nAssures food safety, regulatory and company compliance.\r\nUnderstanding of the process\r\nAssists with audits of the process, GMP’s and food safety as well as customer audits.\r\nAssists with troubleshooting of plant quality problems\r\nAssists with troubleshooting of sanitation issues and problems.\r\nAssists with product improvement projects\r\nPerform other duties as assigned.\r\n\r\n

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

\r\n\r\nGood communication skills and ability to work in a team-based environment.\r\nAble to interact with all levels of management\r\nAble to work alone with limited supervision\r\nKnowledge of workplace safety rules\r\nAbility to work with cross functional teams.\r\nExcellent attendance and work record\r\nExcellent communication skills\r\nAble to speak, read and write English\r\n\r\n

Education & Experience 

\r\n\r\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in poultry/animal science, biology, or chemistry preferred.\r\n1-3 years of experience in a quality assurance role in lieu of required education\r\nPrevious experience in food manufacturing preferred.\r\n\r\n

Physical Demands

\r\n\r\nOccasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds\r\nSpecific vision includes close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.Must be able to distinguish colors.\r\nFrequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.\r\n\r\n

Working Environment:

\r\n\r\nTime working in a cold and wet industrial environment is required.\r\nMay require long periods of time on feet.\r\nMay require a lot of walking.\r\nMay be exposed to foul odors due to incubating and autoclaving samples.\r\nMust be able to use computer.\r\nSome long hours and weekend work may be required.\r\n\r\n
