Purpose and role of job:
Performs confirmatory and special laboratory testing of products. Provides analytical support for quality assurance functions throughout all aspects of company operations.
Principal Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:
Correctly performs and understands quality testing requirements.Maintains the cleanliness and upkeep of the laboratory.Follows existing procedures applying to the Quality System.Reports test results to appropriate parties in a timely manner, and assists in correcting undesired quality situations..Performs special testing for support of product development, validation, and product investigations (nonconforming goods, complaints, recalls & returned goods).Completes assigned reports and recommend appropriate actions based on findings.Supports activities as assigned in the following areas: Calibrations, data system maintenance, quality record maintenance, raw material approval and release, labeling/packaging approval and release, and verification of corrective action.Assists in internal audits as issued by the Quality ManagerAssists in environmental monitoring activities, plating and reading microbial agar plates.Completes water sampling and testingCoordinates activities surrounding the NCR system, including investigations, recommendations, and supplier contact.Provides support to resolve customer complaints.Observes all safety rules and uses the proper safety equipment at all times.Follows necessary GMP, FDA, and ISO regulations.Performs other duties as necessary when directed to do so.Education and experience requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required.Post-secondary education or experience preferred.Two or more years’ experience in a Quality position required.Familiarity with a formal Quality System (ISO 9000, GMP/QSR, etc.) required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications or similar programs.Outlook and Level 1 proficiency in excel preferred.Math skills including algebra required; statistics knowledge a plus.Attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, good verbal & written communication skills.Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.SPC/ SQC knowledge preferredWork Environment:
Work in an environment with the potential for exposure to dust during certain tasks.Physical Requirements:
