Job Title: QA TechnicianJob Description The QA Technician is responsible for performing departmental analytical and clerical work in support of the plant Quality function. This includes conducting lab tests, preparing samples for shipment, and responding to internal calls. Responsibilities + Conduct lab tests including protein, moisture, and fat testing. + Prepare samples for shipment. + Respond to internal calls related to quality issues. + Perform quality audits and floor walk-throughs. + Perform environmental monitoring. + Enter data accurately into systems. + Work proficiently with Microsoft Suite. Essential Skills + Lab testing skills + Clerical skills + Protein, moisture, and fat testing + Quality assurance and control + Batch record keeping + Audit experience + Food manufacturing knowledge + LECO Testing proficiency Additional Skills & Qualifications + Associate's degree or High School Diploma with 2 years of lab experience + 1-2 years of prior laboratory experience, preferably in a food grade manufacturing facility + Experience in lab settings or similar environments such as vet offices or hospitals + Strong tenure (2 years or more preferred) Work Environment The role is set in a smaller laboratory environment within an animal nutrition manufacturing facility. The team consists of three members including two QA Technicians and a Quality Manager. The new hire will start on the first shift for training and eventually work independently on the second shift. The second shift hours are 3pm-11pm, Monday through Friday, with rotating weekends (one weekend a month). When working a weekend day, the employee will have two days off during the next work week. The position involves approximately 75% lab work and 25% clerical/computer work. Training will be provided.
