Pyrometallurgical Plant Manager - Saudi Arabia
Responsibilities:
Process Efficiency: - Assume responsibility for meeting production and quality targets by adhering to production- and maintenance schedules. Attend to breakdowns whilst maintaining set production targets. Ensure the optimal use of available resources, both people and equipment. Assume responsibility for the quality of work conducted within the functional area.  Conduct troubleshooting to identify root cause for substandard operating conditions.  Ensure all relevant process documentation and records are maintained and kept safe. Business Improvement: - Initiate continuous improvement initiatives leading to cost saving opportunities whilst keeping abreast of new developments within the specialist field. Liaise with other departments toward evaluating new technologies to improve process capabilities, product quality and throughput requirements. Conduct research work to initiate process changes and benchmark best practices. Effective People Management: - Optimize teamwork and staffs by motivating and empowering them. Lead by sound performance management and transformational leadership practices. Promote cross functional teamwork, provide support and manage performance by creating and maintaining individual development plans of subordinates. Participate/oversee in all recruitment and HR related activities of reporting staff. Safe and Healthy Work Environment: - Develop, maintain and improve safe operational- and engineering standards and continuously review specifications and schedules. Ensure equipment integrity is maintained according to safety standards. Participate in development and Maintenance of Safety systems, aligned with AMIC safety standards, Occupational Health, Safety and Environment registers, ISO 14000; 9000 and 18001 systems where applicable. Manage and control quality of raw materials and products. Conduct timeous investigation of incidents and ensure adequate remedial action is implemented. Budget and Cost Control: - Prepare, submit and control the Production Department annual budget by forecasting operational costs and monitor expenditure monthly. Focus on advancements in production, equipment and related processes to assess production unit cost reduction potential. Customer and Supplier Relationship: - Liaise with Logistics Department regarding customer satisfaction and maintain a high customer satisfaction index (˃98%). Adapt to changing customer requirements and respond to technical aspects of customer queries. Monitor suppliers of consumables and raw material product quality standards through set methods and promote supplier relations on technical aspects. Community involvement: Participate in community development and related activities as and when required. Qualification and Experience:
17 years heavy industry experience in the Pyro-metallurgical process of which 10 years at senior level experience is desirable. Masters or Post Graduate qualification in a specific discipline or MBA. People Management experience Managing Budgets and Finances Operations Management
