Pureplay Customer Manager - Pet Nutrition

Job Description:

The Pureplay Customer Manager is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive customer business plan to deliver annual operating plan (GSV/NSV/MAC), including share performance, within trade investment budget for Amazon & Chewy. This associate is responsible for developing and maintaining strong and influential relationships with Pure Play customers, collaborating internally with key stakeholders to develop and execute mutually beneficial joint business plans and deliver profitable, sustainable growth.

It requires a deep understanding of the e-commerce landscape, excellent communication and collaboration skills, a bias for action and strong drive for results.

What are we looking for?Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with 5+ years relevant experience in account management and leveraging insights to deliver customer plans.Digital commerce experience and understanding of the dComm landscape, as well as direct experience working with or leading Amazon business is critical.Strong interpersonal & collaborative skills and proven ability to develop long term, effective and influential business relationships with key decision makers, internally & externally.Ability to assess needs, propose mutually beneficial solutions, overcome objections, with a positive mind-set and close sale to maximize mutual value.Ability to navigate complex situations and challenge the status quo with a solution-based attitude.Self-reliant, decisive, resilient and able to respond and adapt to a fast moving, dynamic environment.

What will be your key responsibilities?

Ecom Strategy

Partner with EComm Director & cross functional team (Sales Strategy, OMNI, SRM, Portfolio) to lead the creation of strategic growth plan to win in digital commerce with our Pureplay customers while optimizing profitability, sales revenue and market share.Analyze business opportunities and provide input into the development of go-to-market (i.e. new item launches, trade deployment, pack creation, etc.) plans and activity sets.Stay informed & lead thinking on the emerging e-commerce trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape to inform the development of effective strategies and enable Mars to lead change within the channel.

Account Management

Act as the primary point of contact for Amazon & Chewy Canada relating to daily operations of the business, fostering strong relationships and building a collaborative partnership.Develop and execute account plans to achieve sales targets, profitability, and market share objectives. This includes online merchandising execution, new item acceptance, assortment optimization, trade budget adherence.Monitor and analyze KPI’s, sales data, and market trends to identify opportunities and address challenges.Responsible trade budget management to deliver a sound, financial plan for the account and delivering objectives at year-end.Work collaboratively with demand planning & supply teams to provide annual and ongoing customer forecasting for innovation, new initiatives, and annual brand plans. Develop accurate and timely sales & trade forecasts using a variety of inputs from both consumption and shipment perspective, adopting a continuous improvement mind-set.Work with copilots & cross functional business unit resources to develop plans that align with the strategy for Mars Pet Nutrition Canada.Provide input in the area of collaborative planning, recommending new approaches and processes that ensure better customer planning, input, and alignment of improved activity sets.
