A Purchasing Supervisor will supervise the purchase of goods and materials required by the hotel in adherence to policy and with cost reduction and profitability in mind.

What will I be doing?

\n

To a) be a passionate host, b) receive delivered goods and c) assist the Finance Operations Manager in managing the purchasing at the hotel, ensuring 100% hotel compliance with all standards and company supply management policies:

\n\nAssist the Finance Operations Manager with the purchasing of all goods and equipment required by the hotel\nCommunicate clearly and constructively with other team members to help deliver great guest experiences at our hotel.\nAlways deliver ‘fair share’ in team tasks and support colleagues whose workload may temporarily be heavy. \nBe willing to lend a hand where it is needed most and spend at least 30 minutes per day helping in operations such as housekeeping, stewarding, and F&B service, providing brand-specific guest experiences\nProvide constructive suggestions/feedback to your Line Manager on products, processes and procedures to contribute to our continuous improvement efforts\nBe aware of planned team meetings and learning sessions and attend as required\nParticipate positively in pre and post shift briefs and hotel team huddles and apply learning the next day\nVolunteer to participate in company campaigns like Travel with Purpose or Team Member committees\nExecute duties as assigned by the Finance Operations Manager and General Manager\nGuided by the Finance Operations Manager, handle the purchasing of all goods required for successful hotel operations in full compliance with our supply management policies and business ethics standards \nMake purchasing decisions that are business minded and ensure best value for money without compromising on quality\nWhen planning to outsource departments or services, ensure Hilton guidelines are followed and the outsourcing partner is selected only after completing all steps of the standard outsourcing process\nPro-actively search for optimally priced or cost saving purchasing deals and discuss those with the Finance Operations Manager and / or General Manager\nMaintain records of purchases and transactions and prepare relevant reports for members of the hotel leadership team\nBe and remain an expert user of our purchasing system and teach others in the hotel to become better and more knowledgeable system users\nHelp ensure that all non-F&B item deliveries are to hotel specifications in accordance with purchase orders\nBe responsible for the proper receiving and storing of goods\nAlways keep the receiving area and storerooms at the hotel tidy and clean\n

\n\nPrevious experience in a high volume Accounts function\nComputer literate, with good Microsoft Excel skills\nGood time management and organisation skills\nPassion for providing an exceptional customer service experience\n\n

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

\n\nPrevious experience with the Birchstreet and the PeopleSoft system\nRelevant degree, in Finance/Accounting or related business discipline, from an academic institution\n\n
