Summary
This position will be responsible for the Purchasing Department/team of Buyers and the
acquisition of MRO products for the Dallas Distribution Center and over 100 Mobile Stores
nationwide serving 6,000 end users. This individual will be able to manage, appraise, and
improve our sourcing activities by analyzing the company’s product costs, supplier
partnerships, and anticipated needs. Key Results Areas
• Determine the correct method to process purchase requisitions depending on total
cost, timeliness, competitive bidding, and existing demand.
• Maintain a list of multiple vendors for all current inventory in stock.
• Communicate daily with peers including, but not limited to, Operations, Customer
Support, Inventory, and Product regarding issues and opportunities.
• Identify and present opportunities for strategic purchases.
• Manage buying team and results. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)
Responsible for all the company's procurement. Manage 3-4 Buyers and their daily
responsibilities, which include:
• Create daily purchases of inventory based on demand to prevent back orders.
• Maintain and adjust lead times of inventory from suppliers to ensure the timely
delivery of replenishment stock.
• Responsible for researching and evaluating suppliers based on quality, price,
selection, service, support, availability, reliability, and supplier’s reputation.
• Create new part numbers and set up vendor information in WMS.
• Contribute to Product meetings.
• Respond to changing conditions in product supply as well as commodity and market
trends affecting pricing and availability.
• Negotiating with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms.
• Resolve pricing/receipt and other variances from suppliers.
• Communicate with suppliers and problem solve situations.
• Ability to successfully persuade others, listen actively, and foster a collaborative
atmosphere during the negotiation, which altogether leads to positive agreements
for involved parties.
• Proactively run weekly reporting to both track current state and identify future
challenges. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• At least 3 years managing buyers/Purchasing department.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing and sourcing.
• Prefer at least 5+ years’ experience buying MRO products.
• Demonstrated success in negotiating costs with vendors.
• Working knowledge of an MRP/WMS system. Required Skills
• Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Procurement Certifications preferred.
• Advanced knowledge in Excel.
• Proficiency in ERP and inventory management software programs.
• Detail-oriented with exceptional accuracy and great organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills (written and oral) along with a high level of
interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
• Previous experience with blanket purchase orders.
• Effective communication, persuasion, strategizing, and negotiation skills
