Azenta Life Sciences is seeking a Purchasing Manager to join our growing and dynamic organization. Reporting to the Divisional CFO for the Multiomics and Synthesis Solutions business known as GENEWIZ, this position will provide support to the Global Multiomics organization.

This role will lead the global Multiomics Procurement team and focus on developing, leading and executing on purchasing strategies, working across a portfolio of commodities and sites. This role will also manage a global team of buyers. A strong background within Purchasing with a proven track record in cost reduction, negotiation and supplier management is required; a proactive approach to problem solving as well as having the ability to convert strategy into action is required.

What You’ll Do…

Primary Responsibilities:

Responsible for leading and developing a team of Buyers across a multi-site operationDevelopment and delivery of supplier management strategiesOwnership of the Purchasing strategy and budget process as well as all Purchasing process documentationManagement of the supplier portfolio and execution on consolidation of supply to drive price benefits as well as proposing alternative supplyOperate across all functions to deliver business strategy on margin and qualityLead negotiations with all key suppliers on price and termsResponsible for the Quarterly Business Review (QBR) process with key suppliersRepresent Supply Chain for New Product Introduction and Existing Product Development projectsIdentify and manage supply chain risks, communicate with internal and external stakeholders to mitigate risksProblem solving demand issuesTrack, report on manage departmental metricsGenerate and present internal management reports for weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual trackingDrive Business Process Improvements / Continuous Improvement activities to achieve productivity, efficiency and KPIs, and improve employee engagement.  Participate and lead Kaizen events and continuous improvement sessionsResponsible for all people management aspects of team members including recruitment, onboarding, training & development, and performance management.

What you will bring…

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, APICS certification (CPIM) preferredMinimum 5 years of purchasing within a manufacturing environmentMinimum 2 years management experienceA strong background within Purchasing with a proven track record in cost reduction, negotiation and supplier management is required; a proactive approach to problem solving as well as having the ability to convert strategy into action is required.Experience with Lean / Continuous Improvement teams and activitiesExpert capability in modern sourcing principlesAbility to analyze cost effectiveness and make sound commercial / business decisions and recommendationsStrong preference for a candidate with knowledge of Netsuite based planning systemStrong preference for a candidate with experience in Life Science Services industryStrong interpersonal and communication skills

Working Conditions/ Schedule

This position will be on-site in South Plainfield, NJ 4 days a week. Remote on FridayOccasional travel may be required (not expected to be more than 10%) including to APAC region
