Purchasing Agent What we are looking for: Aldridge is currently seeking a Purchasing Agent to be part of Aldridge’s Purchasing team. Your role at Aldridge will support some of the largest and most technically challenging infrastructure projects in the nation! Our Purchasing Agents support project teams from coast to coast with project procurement strategies to keep our people safe, maximize operational efficiencies, stay under budget, and solve purchasing and logistics problems. You will have the opportunity to create partnerships with project teams and vendors focusing on lowest installed cost strategies needed to complete our projects. What you’ll do: + Work with project teams and vendors to negotiate project procurement plans and packages. + Be a material subject matter expert resource for project managers that might not fully understand their needs. Be resourceful in locating hard-to-find material. + Use questioning to ensure orders are complete. Think ahead and solve issues before they become problems. + Review, monitor and control the creation and execution of purchase order requests from project teams. + Pursue and negotiate available vendor discounts. + Make recommendations to increase efficiency and drive greater value. Assist with the training and rollout of any purchasing processes and system changes. + F acilitate the resolution of material and/or logistics issues with vendors. + Monitor the purchase order status with project teams to ensure timely completion. + Work with the project and accounting teams to correct coding and/or data entry errors related to purchase orders and invoices that impact timely vendor payments. Who you are: + 4-year degree preferred. + 2+ years’ experience with degree, 5+years’ experience without degree. + Purchasing/procurement field experience, construction is a plus. + Excellent communication in person, on the phone, and through email. + Proven problem solver with strong organizational and analytical skills. + Essential computer skills: MS Office, Google, and PDF creation. + Experience with procurement software, specifically Coupa, is a plus. + Construction / Electrical experience desired. What we offer: The annual base pay for this role is between $65,000 - $85,000. The actual pay is dependent upon many factors, including location, work experience, education, training, transferable skills, business needs, and market conditions. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
