Purchaser - Primoris Industrial & Civil

Primoris Industrial & Civil is in search of an experienced construction Purchaser for our Houston office. Candidates with experience in Viewpoint ERP systems and pVault are preferred. The ideal candidate must be willing to travel to future project sites.

Job Description:

Purchaser will support the procurement team with researching, strategic sourcing, negotiations, analysis of pricing structures, bid analysis and purchasing services, supplies, parts and equipment. The Purchaser is a crucial role in the successful execution of industrial construction projects by ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials, equipment, and services. Expertise in supply chain management, vendor relationships, and negotiation will be key in maintaining project schedules, controlling costs, and ensuring quality standards are met.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with Project Manager and Procurement Director to establish strategic direction and objectives and to determine project-specific procurement needs, specifications, and budget constraints. Assist with supplier qualification, evaluation and re-evaluation processes. Support the procurement team with developing appropriate sources of supply. Initiate sourcing (price/availability) process by issuing RFQ’s and RFI’s. Analyze and level quotes received and making recommendations for award. Assist with commercial negotiations Prepare and process purchase orders and change orders. Input and maintain necessary data/records in the company purchasing system. Work closely to ensure suppliers meeting contract schedule and delivery requirements. Research and resolve AP/AR discrepancies. Maintain key procurement documents to ensure Project Team is informed of material constraints and risks. Assist with Procurement reporting requirements, vendor performance metrics and scorecards. Maintain cooperative working relationships with suppliers to stay current with trends and technologies, products and services. Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers/vendors of materials, equipment, and services required for industrial construction projects.

Requirements:

5-10 years’ experience in a related function within the industrial construction industry. Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, or a related field is preferred. Familiarity with construction materials, equipment, and services used in the industrial construction industry. Experience in Contracts/Subcontracts formation and bid process would be an asset. Knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and regulations. Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills. Proficiency in using procurement software and MS Office Suite. Proficiency with Viewpoint ERP System is preferred. Communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
