The Opportunity
As a Purchase/Sales Ledger Clerk, you’ll play a crucial role in managing this company’s financial transactions. You'll be an integral part of ensuring that all supplier invoices are processed efficiently and accurately, contributing to the financial health of the organisation. This role offers the chance to work within a supportive team environment and grow your skills in finance and administration.
The Role
As a Purchase Ledger Clerk, your primary responsibility will be maintaining the purchase ledger, handling supplier invoices, and ensuring timely payments. You'll also assist with operating the telephone switchboard during overflow and lunchtime periods. Key responsibilities include:
Data entry of supplier invoices into the computer system (Kerridge)Processing cheque payments and maintaining payment logsReconciling accounts within the Purchase Ledger and resolving outstanding itemsEnsuring invoices are correctly charged to the appropriate cost centre and authorisedLiaising with departments to obtain necessary invoice authorisationsHandling supplier queries regarding outstanding paymentsMaintaining accurate records and filing invoices and statements promptlyAssisting with expense analysis and other ad hoc duties as required
The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking a candidate with a minimum of two years' experience in a similar role, preferably in a finance or accounting environment. The ideal candidate will have:
Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skillsProficiency in data entry and computer systemsAbility to prioritise tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environmentExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalKnowledge of accounting principles and purchase ledger processesFamiliarity with health and safety policies and quality procedures
This role is available both full-time and part-time.
