Summary

Responsible for the Pasteurization & Whey Process. Coordinates activities to ensure optimal process efficiency. Seeks to continually promote sanitary conditions and compliance with safety regulations. Keeps management well informed.

Responsibilities Assumes responsibility for ensuring compliance with quantity, quality and preparation of pasteurized ingredients for production needs. Ensures that pasteurization is begun on time and monitors operations to ensure that schedules are met. Keeps accurate inventory of ingredients and report to supervisor, either a surplus or need to order according to schedule. Must ensure that all ingredients are used with 72 hours or less Organize and schedule daily Whey pickups Must efficiently and clearly communicate/interact with the Cheese-Makers (daily and throughout the day) ensures that workstations in pasteurization area operate efficiently and produce a quality ingredient. Maintains effective operations with minimal breakdowns and delays; reports any mechanical problems/issues at milk receiving, pasteurizer and why process areas to Maintenance and or direct supervisor. Food Safety Comply with SQF Food Safety Requirements Follow Los Altos Foods GMP’s Policies. PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS  Established process and efficiency goals are met or exceeded. High Ingredient quality standards are maintained. Process problems, delays, or inconsistencies are promptly detected and quickly resolved. Good coordination and communication exist with area staff and with related departments.  Required reports are accurate, timely, and useful to management. Management is informed of significant problems or concerns. Internal QA Audit Nonconformance’s Qualifications:

EDUCATION: General Education

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Experience in food production line.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

SQF Code knowledgeable Thorough understanding of food production functions, equipment, and standards. Knowledge of quality control standards. Familiarity with applicable food safety regulations. Knowledge of industry products and services Chemical understanding and handling

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Able to follow task as assigned Well organized Decision making and time management abilities. Ability to motivate and lead others. Good basic math skills. Solid problem-solving abilities. Familiarity with all related food processing equipment WORKING CONDITIONS:

Worker is subject to varying inside and/or outside temperatures, which may include heat temperatures up to 90 degrees.

At times, you may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety gloves, hearing protection, a respirator or dust mask, protective footwear and protective clothing or uniforms. Work may be performed in cold and/or hot temperatures and the environment can be dusty.
