The Senior Sales Accountant will ensure accurate accounting and reporting for the sales department. The Senior Sales Accountant will coordinate, prepare, and/or review periodic reports for finance, sales and marketing department in collaboration with internal departments.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Serve as a resource to sales force and sales accounting team on accounting & finance matters. Organize and coordinate all financial deliverables with the sales and marketing teams, including weekly, quarterly and annual reports, reconciliations, month end close, and promotional activity; provide meaningful variance analyses in collaboration with manager. Train/coach staff sales accountants as needed on their current responsibilities, as well as look to drive continuous process improvement by recommending and executing changes to daily work routines that will improve efficiency and effectiveness of the whole team. Fully cross-train with the department Manager and understand all aspects of the department Work with IT to research and resolve system and reporting issues as well as improve reporting and processes Take ownership for accounting and reporting for Sales profit center, including meeting with Sales personnel to understand current programs and ensuring that associated costs are correctly accounted for. Calculate and record non-routine quarterly closing entries, including sales cutoff and necessary reclassifications. Understand fluctuations from prior periods. Develop relationships with management and other team members, and communicate effectively on issues that arise. Coordinate annual audit of revenue, advertising and related accounts; work with auditors and Manager to provide support and resolve questions timely; assist with quarterly reviews. Assist accounting and sales management with other ad-hoc requests or special projects Other duties as assignedMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or four (4) years’ equivalent work-related experience Three (3) years general accounting or audit experience
