POSITION SUMMARY

The Electro-mechanic will repair of a wide variety of automated dairy food manufacturing and packaging equipment and be responsible for the scheduled, unscheduled and preventative maintenance

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Investigate and diagnose to resolve production problems utilizing line operators, mechanics and lab technicians. Acts as the “first responder” when a line stops producing and assures that the appropriate mechanical and/or electrical help is on site to correct any problems quickly. Review and complete maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities; complete daily paperwork documentation Support the facility’s GMP, food safety and food quality programs to assure compliance and achieve desired results. Examine parts for defects, including breakage or excessive wear; disassemble and reassemble machinery or equipment to inspect, test, remove, repair and maintain parts; repair and/or replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery or equipment Observe, analyze results and test the operation of machinery or equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using electrical diagrams, voltmeters or other testing devices; examine objects, systems or facilities and analyze information to determine needed repairs; operate newly repaired machinery or equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs; ensures production equipment is ready Clean, lubricate, or adjust parts, equipment, or machinery Record parts or materials used and order or requisition new parts or materials Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational and safety performance standards. Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Three (3) years’ experience in high speed industrial manufacturing maintenance 2 years in Pneumatics and Hydraulics maintenance

Preferred Qualifications

Be able to read electrical diagrams KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES (KSA’s) Knowledge of mechanical and electrical skill base including hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical 240 and 480 AC, DC power, level sensor, temperature and pressure sensor, AC and DC motors. Centrifugal pumps and PD pumps. Ability to maintain a positive working environment that’s free of harassment or discriminatory activities. Ability to work with Basic Tool Room Equipment, Hydraulic systems, Programmable Logic Controllers and Ladder Logic. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safely rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read, understand and follow electrical diagrams as well as engineering specifications. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Computer skills.  Willingness to work flexible hours. Written and interpersonal communication skills

ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS

Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, 1st, 2nd and/or 3rd shifts Ability to work in temperature conditions between 35 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit; may occasionally exceed 95 degrees Fahrenheit. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The associate is frequently required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, use eye, hand, and/or use finger coordination enabling the use of machinery and equipment. The associate is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 75 lbs. Specific vision abilities may be required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to focus. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals and fumes or airborne particles. Standing, walking, kneeling and bending approximately 85% of day Computer and administrative work approximately 15% of day Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone. The noise level in the work environment ranges from normal office levels to loud levels due to equipment and machinery use.

 

COMPENSATION

$47K - $57K annual salary, depending on geography, skills, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is eligible for an incentive bonus, based on achievements of company targets and individual performance expectations
