Public Relations Intern
As a public relations intern, you will be an extension of the PR team and an integral component to the team’s daily tasks and operations. The person in this role will participate in the planning of strategic communications efforts to ensure Atlantic Health System is effectively and persuasively sharing impactful stories and important health information with patients and consumers. The intern will also be working closely with cross-functional teams to determine PR needs and support. The intern will gain visibility into the inner workings and aspects of the public relations field, provide concrete deliverables and learn from top to bottom. The intern’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: + Assist in drafting materials including awards submissions, press releases, Q&A’s with experts and more + Conducting research on relevant or breaking news within the healthcare industry + Assist with media clips and monitoring coverage + Aid in planning and/or attending events + Build and update media lists and databases + Participate in certain photo/video content creation + Applicants must be currently enrolled in a full-time accredited undergraduate or graduate program at a public or private College/University, and be in good academic standing at their institution + Must be committed to completing the duration of the internship from June - August 2024 + Work 37.5 hours per week and commit to a minimum of 375 hours for the duration of the internship + Must be committed to completing the duration of the internship from June 2025 - August 2025 + US Citizen or Permanent Resident + Strong desire to learn along with professional drive + Excellent verbal and written communication skills + Strong ability to multi-task + Comfortable with public speaking and engaging with senior executives and internal stakeholders + Good research and analytical skills + Knowledge of copywriting and editing + Experience with Microsoft Office Suite + Must be a self-starter ABOUT US At Atlantic Health System, our promise to our communities is; Anyone who enters one of our facilities, will receive the highest quality care delivered at the right time, at the right place, and at the right cost.
