Public Finance & Infrastructure Direct Lending Associate

JPMorgan’s Public Finance & Infrastructure Direct Lending Group is searching for an Associate to join the team! The Public Finance & Infrastructure Direct Lending Group (“Group”) consists of 15 team members predominantly based in New York. As a Infrastructure Direct Lending Associate you will sit within the Commercial & Investment Bank. This Group deploys JPMorgan’s balance sheet as a direct lender or credit support provider in a variety of forms (construction loans, term loans, revolving credit facilities, letters of credit, standby bond purchase agreements, delayed draw facilities, etc.) to a range of complex infrastructure projects (stadiums/arenas, waste to energy/electric charging infrastructure, toll roads, bridges, etc.), public-private partnerships and municipal issuers across different sectors (energy, healthcare/higher, state & local government, water/sewer etc.). The Group currently has $27.0 billion of exposure and is responsible for originating, structuring/negotiating, documenting and booking transactions. Once booked counterparty risk sits within the business and is closely monitored.  

Job responsibilities:  

Supporting the Group’s broader origination/structuring efforts including the execution of complex project financings Building/analyzing financial models Preparing term sheets and responding to RFPs Preparing presentations for credit committee and senior management Presenting at credit committee  Analyzing project/municipal budgets, revenue streams, and expenditures Analyzing/interpreting financial data, trends, and performance metrics Utilizing financial models to forecast revenues, expenditures, and other key financial indicators Supporting the monitoring of risk in the portfolio Interacting with clients (meetings/site visits, calls/Zoom etc.) and internal stakeholders (risk chain, banking, legal etc.)  

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:  

Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.   Demonstrate proficiency in project finance/financial modeling, data analysis, etc. Experience in municipal finance or related financial analysis roles Analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail Effective communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment Ability to balance a varied workload across different sectors and transaction types

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:  

Professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA, Series Exams) is a plus
