Job Description Summary:

Responsible for completing neuropsychological and/or psychological testing under the supervision by the neuropsychologists as part of their clinical evaluations. Neuropsychological testing primarily focuses on cognitive abilities (e.g., memory, language, problem solving) and psychological well-being.
WTH patient population includes adults and older adults with neurological, psychological, and/or medical conditions. Common conditions include neurodegenerative diseases (e.g., Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease), stroke, and traumatic brain injury. Patients also often have mental health comorbidities, such as depression.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, efficient, flexible, and a self-directed learner who can independently and quickly master administration and scoring procedures for neuropsychological testing. The ideal candidate also is committed to providing high-standard patient care, collaborates well with colleagues, and takes initiative to support the growth of the service and/or individual skills.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Administers a variety of cognitive/psychological tests to assess areas such as cognitive functioning, academic skills, personality/emotional development, and/or behavior.Scores each cognitive/psychological test accurately following established standardization protocols.Collects, compiles, and presents patient test data to the neuropsychologists promptly.Coordinates and conducts clinical activities related to the neuropsychological and/or psychological evaluation, as well as treatment of patients. Maintains accurate and complete documentation on the delivery of mental health care services. 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

Master’s degree from an accredited college/university with a major in an appropriate psychological or social science.

LICENSURE, REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION:

Tennessee certification as a Certified Psychological Assistant.Certification by The Board of Certified Psychometrists is desirable.

EXPEREINCE:

One year of cognitive assessment work (e.g., clinical services and/or research) following a Master’s degree under the supervision of a licensed neuropsychologist/psychologist is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.College level math/statistical skills.English language proficiency required. Bilingualism welcomed.
