Psychologist - Site Mental Health Director - Corrections

Full-time, days

 

Responsible for overseeing the provision mental health services to inmates of the Department of Corrections consistent with community standards of care.  Provides overall supervision for clinical services for the site.  Serves as the liaison for mental health matters with mental health providers outside the system and provides “on-call” services.

Responsibilities Responsible for the direct supervision and evaluation of all mental health staff.Implements and enforces all policies and procedures pertaining to the facility’s mental health services.Meets regularly with the facility’s Health Services Administrator to communicate information regarding mental health services.Coordinates mental health care with the medical department.Administratively oversees the referral process for  psychopharmacological interventions .Oversees transfers of inmates to higher levels of mental health care when necessary.Attends all clinical and administrative meetings as scheduled by the Health Services Administraton.Provides direct mental health services as needed.Oversees mental health discharge planning  for inmates to be  released into the community.All other duties as assigned. Qualifications Must possess a degree in Psychology (Ph.D./Psy.D) from an accredited graduate program in Psychology or a degree in Medicine (MD/DO) from an accredited medical school.  Must be licensed as a Psychologist or Psychiatrist by the in which he/she will provide services.
